19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

He rescued 4 early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
