The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
