Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
